Our Mission

Dedicated to saving lives, the JM Memorial Heart Foundation is on a mission to educate the public about heart disease, promote early detection, and support pioneering research. Our commitment is fueled by the quest to help and educate Tanzanians who lack access to crucial information and resources.

We wholeheartedly dedicate ourselves to this mission in memory of Josephine Mohamed, a beloved woman who left an indelible impact as a mother, wife, and friend.

Our Purpose

Far too frequently, heart disease manifests itself through sudden death, leaving little indication beforehand. Despite Josephine Mohamed non-smoking habits, a healthy weight, and a clean bill of health from her health check-ups, she passed away without any forewarning signs or symptoms. This abrupt loss left her husband, daughters, family, and friends in a state of shock and disbelief, questioning how such a fate could befall someone so young, vibrant, and seemingly robust.

In an effort to commemorate Josephine’s memory and prevent other families from enduring the heartbreaking loss of a loved one to heart disease, a group comprising Jane’s friends, family, and community established The JM Memorial Heart Foundation in 2020.
